Elk Grove Unified Proposes Increases in Substitute Teacher Pay

ELK GROVE, Calif. – August 31, 2021 – The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) will propose an increase in substitute teacher pay rate to the Board of Education at the September 7, 2021 Board Meeting. Contingent upon Board approval, the newly proposed rates will be retroactive to September 1, 2021. The proposed rates range from $160 to as high as $350 per day and simplified the tiered system making it easier and faster for an interested substitute to stay in an assignment for a longer period of time.
