Volunteer Opportunities

Sacramento County Behavioral Youth Advisory Board
  • Eligibility: youth ages 12 to 24
  • Meeting day/time: first Monday and third Saturday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
  • Meeting location: Virtual
Responsibilities:
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Advocate for youth-led policies
  • Provide feedback to public agencies and committees

Sacramento County Youth Commission
  • Eligibility: youth ages 12 to 18 residing in or enrolled in school in District 5
  • Meeting day/time: first Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m
  • Meeting location: Sacramento County Administration Building, Hearing Room 1; 700 H Street (Zoom option available)
Responsibilities:
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Serve on at least one sub-committee
  • Represent Youth Commission at community events

Volunteers Needed at Project R.I.D.E. Inc
Project R.I.D.E. Inc. seeks youth volunteers year-round to assist with its therapeutic horseback riding program for people with special needs. If you enjoy working with kids and animals, Project R.I.D.E. wants YOU to join. After school and weekend shifts are available year round. No experience is required and volunteers may earn
community service hours, as well as gain experience for college and career. Volunteers must attend one 2 hour training and be 14 or older. Learn more at www.projectride.org, or call

The Experience Berkeley Program for High School Students (EBHS) is a free 10-month program that provides Black, Latinx, & Native American rising high school seniors (current juniors) with mentors, tools, and resources to complete a competitive UC college application and the opportunity to get a close, personal look at UC Berkeley. The application for the 2023 Experience Berkeley program will be accessible on this website starting January 18th, 2023.
