Zoo Camp Counselor

Camp Counselors play a major role in the Sacramento Zoo’s Summer Camp program. They help camp staff en-sure campers have a fun, enriching, and educational camp experience. It is a great opportunity to get community service hours, to learn about animals at the zoo, and to meet teens from around the county!

 Runnin' for Rhett Volunteers - Sunday, March 29

he Runnin' for Rhett Youth Fitness Program will be starting soon and we will have over 3,500 youth from 75+ Sacramento area schools participating this season! They will be training to participate in the Run Because You Can 5K on Sunday, March 29. That's where you come in! We are looking to fill a number of positions to help us put on a great race that morning.

**NOTE: If you have a high school student in your family, this is a perfect opportunity for them to fulfill high school community service requirements. 

Volunteer positions include:

·     Registration & Race Day Packet Pick Up- 6:00-9:00 am: Volunteers will help with packet pick up and walk up registration

·     Set-up crew- 6-9 am: Volunteers will help prepare the race area by setting up tents, tables, chairs etc.

·      Face Painter Assistant- 7:00 am-11:00 am: Volunteers will help face painter set up and assist with crowd management

·     Course Monitors- 7:30 am- 11:00 am: Volunteers will make sure participants stay on course and cheer them on as they go by!

·     Photographers- 7:00 am- 12:00 pm: Volunteers will take photographs with own camera (not phone camera) at various locations throughout the event

·     Fluid Station- 7:30- 10:00 am: volunteers will set up and break down the fluid station, as well as hand out waters during the race


Chicks In Crisis Volunteers

Looking to volunteer your time? Chicks in Crisis would LOVE your assistance! There are always things to do on the Ranch – from gardening to organizing Amber’s Closet to helping with special events.

Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation

The Sports for Life program is an after school program for students with special needs/disabilities and runs from October - May Monday/Wednesday from 3:00pm-5:30pm and Tuesday/Thursday 3:00pm-5:00pm.

2-5 student volunteers are needed each day and students will receive community service hours. Students should arrive between 3:45 pm and 4:00 pm.

Contact Jessica Mow at if interested or need more information. It's a fun active way get their community service hours in and the location is relatively close to the school.


 Kaiser Permanente Volunteer Opportunity

Do you have the compassion to make a patient's day brighter?  If you would like to give more of yourself and get more in return, and have a day each week to share, there's has a place for you - Kaiser Permanente.

Volunteers Needed at Project R.I.D.E. Inc

 Project R.I.D.E. Inc. seeks youth volunteers year-round to assist with its therapeutic horseback riding program for people with special needs. If you enjoy working with kids and animals, Project R.I.D.E. wants YOU to join. After school and weekend shifts are available year round. No experience is required and volunteers may earn community service hours, as well as gain experience for college and career. Volunteers must attend one 2 hour training and be 14 or older. Get ready for the COVID-19 Virtual STEM Fair!

It's a online science fair designed to counteract the lack of academic activities during the global pandemic.

Participants are encouraged to further their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) through project based learning. Any student in grades 6 - 12 can enter.
