California Student Mock Election
To encourage students to become active voters once they are old enough to cast a ballot, Secretary of State Alex Padilla and Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond invite high school and middle school students, teachers and principals to participate in the 2020 California Student Mock Election, which will take place on October 6, 2020, for the Presidential General Election.

Student Board Member position (For seniors)

The California State Board of Education (SBE) is now accepting applications for the 2021–22 Student Board Member position. Any student who is a California resident and enrolled in a public high school, will be a senior in good standing in the 2021–22 school year, and will be available to attend a virtual statewide student leader conference on October 31 to November 2, 2020, is eligible to apply.

Looking to volunteer your time? Chicks in Crisis would LOVE your assistance! There are always things to do on the Ranch – from gardening to organizing Amber’s Closet to helping with special events.

Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation

The Sports for Life program is an after school program for students with special needs/disabilities and runs from October - May Monday/Wednesday from 3:00pm-5:30pm and Tuesday/Thursday 3:00pm-5:00pm.

2-5 student volunteers are needed each day and students will receive community service hours. Students should arrive between 3:45 pm and 4:00 pm.

Contact Jessica Mow at mow.jessica08@gmail.com if interested or need more information. It's a fun active way get their community service hours in and the location is relatively close to the school.

Volunteers Needed at Project R.I.D.E. Inc

 Project R.I.D.E. Inc. seeks youth volunteers year-round to assist with its therapeutic horseback riding program for people with special needs. If you enjoy working with kids and animals, Project R.I.D.E. wants YOU to join. After school and weekend shifts are available year round. No experience is required and volunteers may earn community service hours, as well as gain experience for college and career. Volunteers must attend one 2 hour training and be 14 or older. The UC Davis School of Medicine Health Equity Academy – Leaders for Tomorrow’s Healthcare (HEALTH) is a 6-session program hosted during fall 2020. HEALTH introduces high school students to various health professions, medical technology, and health systems.
