The Enrollment Process

Students interested in being a part of the Arts Academy can pick up an application and enrollment information from Mr. Hayes in the Art Department Office located in the HF building. Interested students are encouraged to meet with Mr. Hayes and their counselor as early as possible to assist with their academic four-year plan.

 

 

Successful Graduates of the Arts Academy:

 

  • Complete 60 credits in the Arts, with 10 credits in an advanced level class

    We look at more than just the formal VAPA A-G descriptions. Credits could include minis, arts courses taken in middle school, college courses taken off-campus and special projects, and other off-campus classes as determined by the coordinator.

     

  • Maintain a 3.00 GPA in their Arts courses

     

  • Maintain a 2.50 GPA overall

     

  • Demonstrate their active involvement with Arts community events

    This could include attendance at performances, art shows, participation in performing arts events on and off campus and production

     

  • Maintain excellent citizenship and attendance

 

 

Arts Academy Graduates Receive:

  • Arts Academy Graduate noted on transcript
  • A distinctive cord worn at graduation
  • A certificate of completion
  • A competitive edge preparing for college acceptance
  • A competitive edge in their Arts career preparation
